So a few months ago I thought I would challenge myself to watching an entire movie list created by Timeout in London. I chose the 100 best romantic movies because I got swept in with the cool graphics and I saw a few movies I loved on the list.
To be completely fair in this challenge I required I re-watch any movie that I had previously seen. {Why oh why did I make that a stipulation.} I am a crier, a serious crier during movies and I do not think I can get through Titanic, There are 100 movies featured on the list, I have managed to watch 10 . Counting them up I just knew I was at least 70% through the list. But 10 is so pathetic. With my added previously viewed my measly 10 movies gets bumped up to a whopping... wait for it... 23 movies. Cringe.
I can't say I have officially quit trying the but I have definitely slowed down. I don't think the fault is entirely mine. The menacing movie that stopped me was Annie Hall. I have never gotten Woody Allen but I just knew now that I was a little older and my love for Diane Keaton was at its highest, this was the time for me to enjoy this movie. I couldn't even enjoy it in fast forward mode. It just wasn't my thing.
This was not my best challenge but I enjoyed it. It opened my eyes to some movies that I had always said I would watch but never did and some I never would have found on my own. This list acted more as a guide-- drawing my attention to actors, actresses and directors in which I was unfamiliar. I will admit I spent most of the time I allocated to watching the movies of the list researching on IMDB trying to find movies similar to the 10 movies I did manage to watch.
I didn't (or haven't) made it through the list I am curious if you can. Let me know in the comments below or email me about how far you've gotten on the Timeout romance list or some other movie list challenges you've done or would like me to try.
